Medal Competition and Raffle on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023

The Annual Medal Competition will take place on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023 starting at precisely 10:45 AM in the lower level stage area of the Wiedemann parking lot. (Those unable to navigate the stairs may gather on the outdoor upper deck area.) Make sure to arrive EARLY with plenty of time to have your beer selection ready to go for the competition!

Complete rules are available on the Events tab on this website under “Medal Month”.

In addition to the Medal Competition, we also have our annual Raffle/Split-the-Pot to benefit two selected charities— this year we have chosen Horses on the Hill (BLOC Ministries) and St. Boniface Food Pantry. Please check out the special selection of Raffle Prizes on our Facebook Page or at the December Meeting and purchase some Raffle Tickets!

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday Morning, Mustard Club!

Horses on the Hill and St. Boniface Food Pantry are our Two Charities for 2023!

The MC Board has chosen Horses on the Hill (BLOC Ministries) and the St. Boniface Food Pantry to be the recipients for our charitable donations this year.

Horses on the Hill provides a unique learning environment incorporating Equine-assisted activities and urban farming and horticulture into Cincinnati’s West side communities of Price Hill. Learn more at BLOC Ministries.

The St. Boniface Food Pantry operates a food panty every Saturday from 1-3 PM in the rectory basement. Residents within the parish boundries are eligible to visit. Learn more at St. Boniface of Cincinnati.

The proceeds from the December Split-The-Pot plus additional funds of the Mustard Club will be used for the donations. Thanks to our Mustard Club members for their continual generous giving!

Membership Meeting at Wiedemann Brewing 10/14/2023 Boot Kicking, Beer, Buffet, Parking, Etc.

Saturday, October 14 we will begin an exciting new chapter as the Handlmaier Mustard Club will have its first meeting at Wiedemann Brewing, 4811 Vine St. in St. Bernard!

We have been busy preparing for all of you to make this transition as smooth as possible. John and Betsy Newberry could not have been more welcoming and accommodating as they ready everything for us!

The buffet will look very familiar to you, with the addition of their delicious Goetta Tots. The Wiesswurst is still being perfected by Avril Bleh and will be available soon. (Buffet Currently at $16)

We feel that you will appreciate the wide beer selection and the beer prices. John and Betsy have gone out and purchased liter mugs for MC; for simplicity’s sake, just double their half-liter price for the cost of a full liter. This is a really good price for in-house, freshly brewed beer! (see menu below)

Also, if you have a special stein please feel free to bring it.

The MC Board asks for your grace and to please recognize that this is all brand-new. There will be hiccups as we grow into our new digs and we ask for your patience.

DEATAILS FOR SATURDAY

October is the last month that everyone will be able to purchase a 2023 membership and be eligible for December Medals Month.

The annual Boot Kicking Competition will take place at 9am. As always, there will be Men’s, Woman’s and Kid’s divisions. It was decided to move Boot Kicking to October so we reduce the chance for inclement weather. It really is fun so come on out early and “kick off some boot”!

Wiedemann will open up a bit early and serve some beverages if the participants are in need of liquid refreshment.

Ongoing, on Mustard Club Saturdays, Wiedemann will open at 10am.

Entering the Facility… The front of Wiedemann, on the Vine Street side, has only 3 steps to get into the brewery, while the back onsite parking has several steps. If you want to take advantage of the front entrance, then you may want to use the plentiful near site parking.

Additional Parking Information from John of Wiedemann’s Brewing

There are several public parking lots in the vicinity of Wiedemann’s. The largest is the St. Bernard Square lot that’s a block North of of our brewery on the same side of Vine Street. The strip center is mostly vacant other than a Skyline Chili and a coffee shop next door. As long as people don’t park near the Skyline, the city is happy to let our patrons park in that lot.

The closest and easiest parking is directly across Vine St. from our taproom, adjacent to City Hall. There are about 12-15 spots over there that are almost always empty on Saturday morning. To get to that lot, you need to drive around the back of Fifth Third Bank.

In addition, there are a couple nearby city parking lots up (south) Vine St. toward the church, for additional parking options.
